Im undertaking a course in fashion journalism at the moment and would eventually like to pursue a career within that field. Im looking for work experience, and have applied to magazines and newspapers but have not had a reply yet. I know that it is a very difficult industry to get involved in. I feel that any work in any area of fashion would be beneficial. If anyone has any contacts or knows where i would be able to get some or some experience, i would be very grateful, thanks x

Ive decided a few months ago that I really wanted to do somthing in the art or fashion industry. But I dont think I can because the options I chose for my GCSEs are completely different and has nothing to do with neither art or fashion. Is there hope?

Size 6 Vogue model Coco Rocha, has revealed she’s been snubbed by London Fashion week which kicks off tomorrow. “I’m not in demand for shows any more. I’ve been told to lose weight even though I am really skinny.” This is despite the fashion industry moving away from size zero models following complaints in 2007, and models considered too skeletal allegedly banned at this week’s events.
So should the fashion industry be free to pick whichever models they chose to?
Or do they have a moral obligation to promote healthy images of women?

I am currently studying a E-Business degree and I am on a marketing work placement. I desperately want to work in the fashion industry, (ideal companies would be Topshop, Urban Outfitters etc) not necessarily in a marketing role but in role that would give me day to day contact with fashion. I was thinking perhaps a role behind their websites to tie in with my degree. I do not know where to go from here to give me the right experience and what specific role to look for? Any help, ideas or advice anyone?? Thank you!

I would love to work in the fashion industry when I’m older. I’m 16 and starting to look for experience to go on my cv, and of course just to get used to things, get an idea of exactly what i want to do in the industry etc…
I emailed an organiser of London Fashion week yesterday to see if I could volunteer in September, but they only take 18+.
I’m having trouble thinking of anywhere else I could possibly get experience from! anyone know?
I live in the uk.

I thought I would enjoy watching Gok’s fashion show on TV last night, to get some outfit shopping tips. Everything on that show was absolutely horrible! No one would actually wear any of his crap in public, surely?

It is commonly known that the French government invest heavily in the Federation Francaise de la Couture, especially compared to the little amount the British government put into the fashion industry here, but I need cold hard numbers? Has anyone read an article I can quote? I need to know how much France invests, and I need a link to the evidence s’il vous plait.
I’ve searched and searched but have difficulty reading French….
Looking forward to your answers, merci beaucoup.

How does the fashion on the catwalk dissipate into the high street stores and what influences the designers or the people behind the fashion trends?
