What do i wear to a uni fashion promotion interview?

I have no idea what to wear for fashion promotion and fashion journalism interview at uni. Some people say their wearin leggins n a top but my mum said wear a pencil shirt and shirt, but i dont wanta look like a nob ead turnin up really formal!!
PLEASE does any1 no whats best to wear, thankyou
